Environmental health consulting blends personal health with environmental health.  Personal health, one's inner milieu, includes the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of oneself. Environmental health, one's outer milieu, includes all physical spaces in which one spends time: home, school, workplace, even the car.

What is environmental health cons

There are four main groups of people who most frequently use the services of an environmental health counselor.

First are people who have identified either their homes or their places of work as adversely affecting their health. Second are people who have been diagnosed with environmentally related illnesses such as allergies, asthma, chronic fatigue, or chemical sensitivities. Third group includes people who are sick and don't know why. Fourth are people who want to create environmental oasis in the places they spend most of their time.

What can you expect from environmental health counselor

1. History taking, identifying and prioritizing problems of both the client and the client's environment.

2. Expert advice on ways to handle the problem(s)

3.  Assistance with remediation process  

4. Suggestions on useful resources and alternative product recommendation:

  • Non-toxic products,
  • Healthy Building Materials and Home Furnishings,
  • Fragrance-free products
  • Electrosmog neutralizers

5. Home or business visit when indicated

6. Healthy Home Inspection

7. Referrals to appropriate health care practitioners and environmental housing specialists           

8. Follow up session(s) to evaluate progress

Environmental Health Counselor

Individual sessions: These sessions provide a tailor made program specifically for you. Initial session includes:

  • Personal health history
  • History of type of health-care services used (allopathic/holistic)
  • Environmental health history - home, work and/or school
  • Review of symptoms/systems
  • Identification of problem(s) for the person/ environment(s)
  • Selection of approaches:

Family sessions: When a family member has an environmentally Induced illness, such as allergies, asthma, chronic fatigue, sick building syndrome, or multiple chemical sensitivity, all family members are affected. We offer family counseling that respects each family member by providing a safe, structured way to explore environmentally related family health issues.

Group sessions: Small groups offer participants an opportunity to talk about the many challenges of living with an environmental illness. A supportive environment in a nontoxic office encourages people to take a proactive role in caring for themselves.

Industrial: Have your employees trained a little in understanding environmental hazards in their place of work. Indoor air pollutants, toxic materials such as gasses from perfumes furniture and carpets.

 All sessions are available in a nontoxic office, the client's home, or by phone.

Inspecting Homes

Home visits provide an opportunity to assess the health of a home. Since each of us spends much of our time in a home, it is very important to create an oasis in the place where we live. Suggestions for improving the health of a home are offered. Safer products recommendations and referral to nontoxic builders and/or healthy building suppliers will be provided.
